COMMUNITY BASED ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
FROLIC DROPS PARK
Community-based environmental management is an approach that empowers local communities to manage, protect, and sustainably utilise natural resources (forests, water, wildlife) they depend on. It blends traditional knowledge with formal management, promoting local ownership, improving livelihoods, and reducing top-down, state-driven control.

Frolic Drops Parks endeavours to steer strategic awareness campaigns to empower the Ntabazinduna community in the fight against illicit tree cutting, sand poaching and other activities that may result in land degradation and consequential effects. Most importantly, we are embarking on land restoration and tree planting programmes.
Meanwhile, we have successfully engaged community leadership by presenting environmental management matters to both the Ward Development Committee (WADCO) and the Village Development Committee (VIDCO).
We have installed informative signposts in several areas of the Park to curb illicit activities, such as sand poaching, wanton tree cutting, and the creation of unauthorised roads that accelerate erosion.”
